Your rights at work

The worker's of Adelaide marched today in protest of John Howard's new Industrial Relations act. All the unions were represented with bold banners as a mob of a few thousand strong walked peacefully up and down King William Street. The most disruption would have to have been when the protestors began to chat "Howard is a wanker", which caused police to frown and on-lookers to chuckle in amusement.

This kind of rowdy but peaceful protest will probably fall on deft ears especially Mr Howard's who is the architect of this 'not so fair' act. However, we the public need to take on some of the responsibility as we re-elected the little man!

And for those of us who didn't - well we're going to also suffer for the mass population's misjudgement or fear of trying something new.

I say next election - let's all vote green because that will make headlines worldwide!

Yeah. Greens. That would REALLY make a good government.

Yes the Coalition has some flaws, any government will, except mine it would perfect. I’d just eliminate everyone except those that would entertain me. Perfect voter happiness. As I’d be the only voter. The rest would be ‘honorary citizens’.

Anyway I remember the last Labour government's effort at running this country: a recession that took Howard's government no small time to turn around.

The Coalition's policy on defence spending also sits well with me. As opposed to arming all our troops with "make love not war" signs which would eventuate from a Greens government.

There is a REASON no-one votes Greens in power Chuck, nobody wants a fucking tree hugging hippy idealistic twit running the country.

Nor a bloated fat fuckwit that has no strategy save nay-saying everying the Coalition does. Beazley.

As for Mark "Budget? What's That?" Latham well, I believe I summed it up there.

And don't even get me started On Natash.dot.com.Despoia.

Finally who gives a shit about a few incompetents marching around for some reason besieging State parliament that has little to do with IR reform? I personally support IR reform largely because what the Unions hate must be good for the economy and competent workers and bad for unskilled fuckwits. Take the Telstra proposed lay-offs. Which the Unions wish the Federal government to intervene on. We don’t see Kimb’s pa getting offered a package, why? He knows his shit. Same with my old man, whenever there was a round of retrenchment unfortunately Old Man Keenan missed out cause he was actually useful. And he wasn’t a ‘skilled’ worker in any sense of the fact he never once held an accredited qualification. But he certainly had the skills. I seriously doubt El Pablo, Kimb’s dad, Dan or even you, Chuck (presuming you do your job well and I can’t imagine you not doing it well) will be in any way affected from IR reform.

But because the media and fuckwits with mouths bigger then brains are touting IR bad, and because lefty’s like you Chuck just don’t like Liberal governments full stop (JK the Great has the sense to belong to no wing but his own) there’s this big stigma about it. Much like the GST. Gee that really changed things for the worse didn’t it? (Though they really should have a look at a handful of items which should be GST-free. Like Beer. And Tampons. Did I mention Beer?) I had the wit to see the virtue of a GST in primary school and wished Hewson in, but the voters panicked (you are right about one thing Chuck, the punters don’t like change…..like IR reform) and Keating miraculously got voted in to continue his policy of it aint broke, break it if it is broke, break it even more. No bloody wonder Howard didn’t mention the GST on his election platform, he’s not a fucking idiot. Unlike the average voter. Ditto IR reform.

The typical voter is like a kid that refuses to take its medicine or to go to the dentist to have a rotted tooth pulled, even though said things are beneficial.

Well, I can only hope some loose cannon looking for glory, like that National Party fuckwit, doesn’t attempt to defeat this bill in the Senate. But that would be expecting too much I’m sure.

Anyway keep the comments coming Chuck, agree or disagree they’re always worth a rant or two.

This is JK the Great (Yes for this rant I throw away my disguise to reveal that Pool God really is….Bruce Wayne!!!) signing out.
